Achieving a favorable esthetic and functional prosthetic outcome requires steady progression through an intricate sequence of clinical steps. This presentation provides the clinician with a systematic approach to oral rehabilitation. It provides decision making guidelines and protocols that will help the clinician to achieve excellent and functional result. It also addresses the technical and esthetic aspects of dental laboratory techniques, including diagnostic wax-up, communication between patient, clinician and technician.
The first part of this presentation centers on the process of diagnosis which demands equal consideration of patients' systemic, psychologic and functional needs as well as knowledge of the other disciplines of dentistry.
The second part describes how this approach applies to patients in various states of edentulism, using fixed prosthesis, hybrid prosthesis and implant supported prosthesis. The presentation will discuss a variety of clinical situations and will outline treatment alternatives,detect possible complications, and evaluate existing data to allow possible treatment outcome assessment.

Speakers
Dr Vincent Bennani
Dr Vincent Bennani is a senior lecturer in the Oral Rehabilitation Department of Otago University, New Zealand. He is a graduate of University of Reims, France, School of Dental Medicine. Dr Bennani trained in prosthodontics at Tufts University, Boston, USA, and also completed postgraduate education in implantology at Bordeaux University, France and a Doctorate from the University of Nice, France. For over 13 years Dr Bennani maintained a full-time private practice on the French Riveria with a primary focus on full mouth rehabilitation and implantology.
During this period he did most of his own technical work. His research expertise is Titanium microsctructure and its relationship to mechanical properties. Since 2002 he has been developing and experimenting, with several companies, his own patent "implant supported titanium final framework as a surgical guide".
