Dental Pursuit 2008 is an interactive full day event comprising series of lectures, interactive case studies and a panel discussion delivered by some of Australia’s leading dental specialists

Dental Pursuit 2008 will provide the audience with:

· An understanding of the complexity of dynamic biofilms.

· An overview of evidence-based efficacy for the use of antimicrobials, leading to practical clinical recommendations.

· An understanding of the impact of oral disease on systemic health.

· A background of expected clinical outcomes associated with antimicrobials for the control of dental diseases.

· Knowledge of the implications of future therapeutic developments in the treatment and control of periodontal diseases.

Professor Eric Reynolds

Professor Eric Reynolds AOM is currently Head of School of Dental Science at the University of Melbourne and CEO of Oral Health Science Cooperative Research Centre. He has over 20 years experience researching oral diseases and over 100 scientific publications and 14 patents. Professor Reynolds developed a remineralisation technology that has been commercialised as Recaldent®.

Professor Saso Ivanovski

Professor Saso Ivanovski is a registered specialist in periodontics and has a Ph.D. and M.D.Sc. in periodontology from the University of Queensland. He has recently been appointed as the inaugural Listerine Chair of Periodontology at Griffith University. His research interests are the biology of periodontal regeneration and osseointegration. Professor Ivanovski maintains a private practice in Brisbane restricted to periodontics and implant surgery. Presenting in all states.

Professor Eli Schwarz

Professor Eli Schwarz KOD is currently Dean and Professor of Dentistry at University of Sydney and is the founder, President, and CEO of Global Alliance for Oral Health. He has held many significant International positions in public oral health including: Executive Director of the AADR and the IADR.

Professor Laurence Walsh

Professor Laurence J Walsh is currently Head of the Dental School and Professor of Dental Science at the University of Queensland, and also holds an appointment within the University’s Centre for Biophotonics and Laser Science. Professor Walsh has research interests in advanced technologies such as lasers, biomaterials, microbiology and infection control. He is often asked to consult with a variety of dental and medical companies and present lectures throughout Australasia and overseas. He maintains a part-time clinical practice in the area of special needs dentistry. Presenting in NSW, QLD, and WA.
