Advanced Tissue Management and Implant Procedures Program: Specimen Workshop

This program is designed to provide a comprehensive overview of bone and soft tissue harvesting and augmentation procedures relating to implant dentistry. A thorough overview of current clinical and scientific trends, diagnosis and treatment planning considerations, along with anatomical factors and anomalies will be presented.

 

This program will consist of lectures, workshops, technique exercises on cadavers/pig jaws, videos/live surgery and case presentations.

 

Program Content

  • Clinical aspects of advanced implant reconstruction
  • Treatment planning (including NobelGuide™) and execution – coorinating surgical and prosthetic stages
  • Radiographic assessment
  • Extraction – site management
  • NobelActive™ implant system
  • Immediate vs. delayed implant placement
  • Flap design – primary closure techniques
  • Tissue (hard and soft) preservation, reconstruction techniques and parameters
  • Simultaneous implant placement and guided bone regeneration
  • Management of anatomic factors and anomalies
  • Preserving ideal gingival contours and the interdental papilla
  • Functional provisionalisation techniques
  • Esthetic crown lengthening for restorative dentists

Hands-on Laboratory

Participants will practice split and full thickness incisions, atraumatic flap elevation and implant osteotomy preparation on pig jaws or cadavers. Implant placement in deficient ridges, bond graft harvesting, membrane management, fixation, connective tissue graft, periosteal release and tension free closure of flap margins will be demonstrated

 

 

Speakers

Dr Egon Euwe

Dr. Egon Euwe obtained his degree in 1982 at the University of Utrecht (Holland). Periodontics and oral implantology are his main interests. He followed post-graduate courses under Dr. Sascha Jovanovic at UCLA. He became a member of the UCLA European Study Club, and in January of 1997, this group presented him an award for the "Best Clinical-Scientific Presentation".

He and his prosthodontist and lab technician won first and second prize in two categories in the international competition of the "Parallelometro d'oro 1999" (Dental Labor Journal). He was involved in the Department of Periodontics, University of Milan at San Paolo Hospital conducting clinical research on resorption of newly formed bone and at Department of Periodontology with Prof. Massimo Simion at Milan University.
