Perspectives in Osteology
Fri Aug 01, 2008 to Sat Aug 02, 2008 9.00 AM - 5.00 PM
Osteology is a term used to describe the scientific study of bones.
A subdiscipline of anthropology (US) archeology (EU), osteology is a detailed study of the structure of bones, skeletal elements, teeth, morphology, function, disease, pathology, the process of ossification, the resistance and hardness of bones.
In the context of oral health, an understanding of osteology provides the critical foundation towards developing optimal patient care – literally!
For the multi-disciplinary oral health care team providing patients with options from full mouth rehabilitation to single tooth replacement this unifying element is a key consideration in all treatment planning and maintenance program development.
The speakers presenting at the 'Perspectives in Osteology' symposium bring a wealth of experience from acknowledged methodology to the rapidly changing plethora of new innovations:
- Professor Stefan Renvert, Sweden
- Professor William Giannobile, USA
- Professor Giulio Rasperini, Italy
- Professor Richard Palmer, UK
We look forward to your participation in discussion to share their ‘Perspectives in Osteology’.
